Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure designed to rejuvenate the skin by stimulating natural healing processes. At our Revitalise Medical Clinic in Alton we use the FDA‑approved SkinPen device. SkinPen has been clinically proven to safely and effectively improve skin texture, reduce scars, and minimise signs of ageing.
SkinPen microneedling is an advanced treatment that uses a handheld device equipped with fine, sterile needles to create controlled microchannels on the surface of the skin. This process stimulates the skin to produce new collagen and elastin, naturally remodelling the skin.
SkinPen can address multiple skin concerns, including:
• Scars and stretch marks:
Clinical studies demonstrate significant improvement in the texture and appearance of post operative or acne scars and stretch marks.
• Fine Lines and Wrinkles:
By stimulating collagen production, SkinPen helps smooth wrinkles and restore youthful skin.
• Hyperpigmentation and Melasma:
The procedure can improve uneven skin tone by promoting the turnover of damaged cells.
• Overall Skin Texture:
SkinPen can enhance smoothness and firmness across various areas of the face, neck, décolletage, and hands.

SkinPen is suitable for most skin types and tones, making it an excellent option for a wide range of people. It is particularly effective for individuals who want to improve skin quality without undergoing surgery, or using heat or chemicals.
It is not recommended for individuals with active wounds or infection, active cancer, keloid scarring, bleeding disorders, collagen vascular disease, those within six months of Roaccutane, anyone with a stainless‑steel allergy, or those who are pregnant or breastfeeding. There are often alternative suitable treatments available so please contact us to discuss this further if this applies to you.
All Revitalise Medical microneedling treatments begin with a detailed pre‑treatment consultation. A topical numbing cream is applied for comfort, after which the pen is gently moved across the treatment area, producing a mild vibration. The procedure typically lasts 30–60 minutes, depending on the size of the area treated. You may notice slight redness or swelling, similar to a mild sunburn, which usually subsides within a day or two.
Visible improvements emerge within a few weeks as collagen production increases. Optimal skin‑rejuvenation results typically appear after a course of three to six sessions spaced about four weeks apart.
Your doctor will supply the post‑procedure skincare products you need for a smooth recovery.
