What is Profhilo?
Profhilo is an injectable skin treatment designed to improve hydration, elasticity, and overall skin quality. It is a form of bio‑remodeling that uses hyaluronic acid (HA)—a molecule naturally present in the body and renowned for its powerful moisturising properties.
Unlike traditional dermal fillers that add volume to specific areas, Profhilo is not a filler, but acts as a skin booster, working throughout the skin to enhance its structure.
This treatment delivers one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid available in aesthetic medicine. It is injected just below the skin’s surface in a series of small injections. Once placed, the HA disperses evenly and stimulates collagen and elastin production, helping to improve the skin for a smoother, more youthful appearance.
What does it treat?
Profhilo is especially popular for addressing skin texture and firmness across multiple areas, including the face, neck, décolletage, arms, abdomen, and hands. By infusing deep hydration, it helps smooth fine lines, boost hydration, and enhance overall skin tone and complexion.
Do I require a course of treatments?
The recommended Profhilo treatment protocol consists of two sessions spaced four weeks apart. To preserve your results, a single maintenance top‑up every 6–12 months is advised, tailored to your skin’s condition and response. Post-procedure advice
Post‑injection bumps are normal after a Profhilo treatment and usually resolve within 24–48 hours. Other temporary effects such as redness, bruising, tenderness, or itching may occur infrequently but typically disappear in a few days.
Avoid touching the treated area for at least six hours. Until any initial swelling and redness have settled, steer clear of intense heat (sunbathing, solariums), extreme cold, strenuous exercise, or swimming to minimise infection risk. Refrain from alcohol for 24 hours before and after treatment. Do not massage the area, stay well‑hydrated, and always apply broad‑spectrum sunscreen when outdoors.
